Rydal Cottage Access Statement
This access statement does not contain personal opinions as to our suitability for those with access needs, it aims to accurately describe the facilities and services that we offer all our guests and visitors.
PARKING AND FRONT ENTRANCE.
We supply one Windermere zone D parking permit which enables our guests and visitors to park one vehicle on South Terrace, North Terrace and Longlands Road.
There are 3 steps from the pavement to the front door, the first step being 50mm high and the next 2 steps being 150mm high. The front door is 800mm wide and opens inwards with the hinges on the left. The inner vestibule door is 840mm wide and opens inwards with the hinges on the left.
INSIDE THE COTTAGE.
The lounge floor is oak laminate throughout with a log burner with a tiled hearth being 50mm high. The door leading from the lounge towards the kitchen opens towards the lounge with the hinges on the left.
On entering the kitchen there are units and marble worktops on the right hand side and under the window where the sink and mixer taps are located.
The worktop height is 930mm high. There is a 50mm step from the kitchen in to the utility room, there is slate effect tiled floor throughout the kitchen, utility room and into the ground floor w.c.
The external door from the utility room leads to the rear enclosed yard area.
In the utility room there is a split level fridge / freezer and a washer / dryer and two small worktops.
The door from the utility room to the w.c. is 690mm wide, there is a vanity unit wash basin, close couple toilet and heated towel rail.
From the small hall area between the lounge and kitchen, the staircase elevates to the right, the staircase contains 12 treads at 200mm high with a full length timber handrail to the left.
Upon reaching the top tread there is a landing area 850mm wide x 550mm deep with 2 small steps to both the front and rear of the cottage each measuring 200mm and 170mm high.
There is a timber handrail across the landing.
The Master bedroom, second bedroom and shower room are all on the same floor level.
The Master bedroom contains a king size bed and second bedroom contains a double bed and a double wardrobe in each room.
The shower room consists of a close couple w.c. vanity unit with wash basin, towel warmer and a low level shower tray being 25mm high. The shower tray is 1400mm in length x 760mm wide with a 580mm sliding door which slides to the right.
All door handles to all doors throughout the cottage are fitted at a standard 1 metre high.
All light switches to all rooms are fitted at a standard 1.2 metre high.
